York County manufacturers and dealers
Know your cash for the next 13 weeks: a forecast for York County businesses
Direct answer
The Cash Forecast Pack builds a 13-week cash forecast from your QuickBooks Online. You get an Excel workbook, a PDF copy, and a one-page summary of your weekly burn, your runway, and the three biggest levers on cash. It costs $750 once, or $250 a month to refresh it every week. It is not tax, audit, legal, or investment advice.
Why York County is a cash-timing county
Many York County businesses buy first and get paid later. The Census Bureau's County Business Patterns for 2022 counted 8,845 business locations here. Manufacturing had 524 of them, with 32,879 workers. That is about 19% of private-sector jobs counted. Transportation and warehousing had 323 locations and 12,896 workers.
Construction had 900 locations. Retail had 1,183. Many are small. About 4,143 York County locations had fewer than five employees. In a business that size, the owner often keeps the cash picture in their head.
Where cash gets tight
A shop can be busy and still be short in week seven. A few things cause it:
- A large payment for steel, parts, or inventory lands before the customer's check does.
- An equipment or inventory payment comes due the same week as payroll.
- A big customer pays in 60 days, not 30.
- Seasonal swings move sales around.
A 13-week forecast lays these out by week. You see which week is tight while you can still act, by calling a customer, delaying a purchase, or talking to your bank early.
Dealers and distributors
TeamShift's county lead-list data, built from Overture Maps places data, lists 25 powersports dealers in York County. Dealers often carry inventory and make payments on it, so the weekly cash picture matters to them. We do not claim any of them as customers. The list is a count of businesses, nothing more.
What you get
- A 13-week workbook (Excel) and a PDF copy: cash in, cash out, and ending balance by week.
- A one-page owner summary.
- Every assumption and data gap listed on the page, so nothing guessed reads as settled.
- With the weekly refresh, the forecast is re-run on fresh data each week, with what changed since last week.
What we need and what we do not do
We need read-only access to QuickBooks Online. We send you a connect link and never ask for your password. We also need about 15 minutes to ask about large payments or receipts you expect. This pack works with QuickBooks Online only, and it makes no changes to your books.
The forecast is delivered within 2 business days after your QuickBooks connection is live. If we miss that, we refund the one-time fee you paid and still deliver.
What to have in your head before we start
You do not need a finance team. In the 15-minute call, we ask about a short list of things:
- Loan, lease, and equipment payment dates, and the amounts.
- Payroll days, and any bonus or overtime weeks.
- Which customers pay late, and how late.
- Taxes, insurance, and other bills that come once or twice a year.
- Any big sale or large purchase you expect this quarter.
Whatever you cannot answer goes on the assumptions list, marked as a guess. Then you can fix it as you learn more.
Cash leaks in the front office too
Cash problems are often sales problems. A missed quote call is a sale that never reached the books. Try the missed-call calculator with your own numbers. For a different local problem, see the Harrisburg professional offices page.
