Agentforce pricing explained: Flex Credits, conversations, and per-user plans

Direct answer

Here is Agentforce pricing as of October 2026. Salesforce offers three ways to pay, per its Agentforce pricing page. Flex Credits cost $500 per 100,000 credits, and a standard agent action uses 20 credits, or about $0.10 an action. Customer-facing agents can instead be priced at $2 per conversation. For employees, per-user add-ons start at $125 per user a month for unmetered use, and Agentforce 1 Editions start at $550 per user a month. The right model depends on whether your agents talk to customers or to your own staff, and how many actions each conversation takes.

Agentforce pricing models at a glance

Figures are from Salesforce's Agentforce pricing page as of October 2026.

Model Price How it's metered Best for
Flex Credits $500 per 100,000 credits 20 credits per standard action (about $0.10), 30 per voice action (about $0.15) Any agent, when you can estimate actions
Conversations $2 per conversation Per conversation Customer-facing agents only
Agentforce add-ons $125 per user a month Unmetered employee use Sales, Service, and Field Service teams
Agentforce Industries add-ons $150 per user a month Unmetered employee use Industries Clouds
Agentforce 1 Editions From $550 per user a month Includes the add-on plus 2.5 million Flex Credits per org per year Companies going all in on Salesforce
Agentforce User License $5 per user a month Requires separately purchased Flex Credits, limited CRM object access Light users who need an agent but not a full CRM seat
Salesforce Foundations $0 Builder tools only, no included credits or conversations Trying the builder

Salesforce also lists three buying models. Pre-Purchase means you pay up front. Pre-Commit means a commitment billed monthly. PayGo has no up-front commitment and bills monthly in arrears.

How Flex Credits work

Salesforce defines an action as "a specific function that an AI agent executes on the platform, such as updating a record, summarizing a complex case, answering a product inquiry, or executing a custom prompt or flow." Each action draws from your pool of Flex Credits.

  • Standard Agentforce action: 20 Flex Credits, about $0.10
  • Agentforce Voice action: 30 Flex Credits, about $0.15

The arithmetic is simple once you know your action count. What's hard is estimating it. One customer question might trigger a lookup, a knowledge answer, and a record update, which is three actions and about $0.30. An agent that loops through records or calls several flows per request uses credits faster than the conversation count suggests.

Flex Credits vs per-conversation pricing

For customer-facing agents you can choose between the two metered models. The break-even point is easy to work out:

  • $2 per conversation divided by $0.10 per action = 20 actions
  • If a typical conversation uses fewer than 20 standard actions, Flex Credits cost less.
  • If conversations are long and action-heavy, the flat $2 can come out ahead.

Most simple service conversations (check an order, answer a policy question, open a case) use a handful of actions. At that volume, Flex Credits usually win. Salesforce lists the conversation model for customer-facing agents only, so it's not an option for internal agents.

Per-user pricing for employee agents

If the agent works alongside your staff inside Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Field Service, the per-user add-ons trade metering for a flat seat price. At $125 per user a month, usage is unmetered for employees. Industries Clouds customers pay $150.

These are add-ons, so they sit on top of the Salesforce licenses those users already have. Agentforce 1 Editions, from $550 per user a month, bundle the add-on with 2.5 million Flex Credits per org per year to spend on metered agent actions.

For a 10-person sales team, the add-on alone is 10 x $125 = $1,250 a month before the underlying CRM seats.

A worked example for a small business

These volumes are an illustration, not a benchmark.

A 20-person ecommerce company already on Service Cloud wants an agent on its help center to answer order and return questions. It expects 1,000 conversations a month, and a typical conversation uses 4 standard actions: look up the order, check the return policy, answer, and log the case.

Option Calculation Monthly cost
Flex Credits 1,000 x 4 actions x 20 credits = 80,000 credits, at $500 per 100,000 $400
Per conversation 1,000 x $2 $2,000
Per-user add-on for 5 service reps (internal use only) 5 x $125 $625

Flex Credits are the clear choice for the customer-facing agent here. If the same company also wants its 5 service reps to use Agentforce inside their console all day, the per-user add-on keeps that usage predictable.

Small changes move the bill:

  • Conversations average 8 actions instead of 4 and the Flex Credit cost doubles to $800.
  • Volume grows to 5,000 conversations and Flex Credits cost $2,000 at 4 actions each.
  • The agent moves to voice and each action costs 30 credits, so 4 actions per call is about $0.60.

Hidden costs beyond the price list

  • You need Salesforce first. Agentforce runs on the Salesforce platform. If your customer data lives in HubSpot, QuickBooks, or spreadsheets, getting it into Salesforce is a project of its own.
  • Building and testing. Someone has to design topics, actions, and guardrails in Agentforce Builder, connect knowledge, and test before customers see it.
  • Implementation partners. Some companies hire a Salesforce partner to set this up. That cost isn't on the pricing page.
  • Estimating actions. Your bill depends on how many actions each conversation takes, which you won't know well until you run a pilot.

When Agentforce is the right buy

Agentforce is a good fit when:

  • Your business already runs on Salesforce and your customer data is clean there.
  • You have a Salesforce admin or partner who can build and maintain agents.
  • You want customer-facing service agents at scale and can measure actions per conversation.
  • You need Salesforce's security, permissions, and audit tooling around your agents.

It's a weaker fit for a small business that doesn't use Salesforce, or one without an admin to own the build.

Alternatives to consider

  • Copilot Studio suits Microsoft 365 shops. See Copilot Studio pricing.
  • Automation tools like Zapier and Make handle rule-based work between apps for less, though you build and maintain each workflow.
  • A done-for-you team. TeamShift is a hosted team of nine AI workers that knows how your business runs, without requiring Salesforce. It works in the apps you already use, such as HubSpot, Gmail, Outlook, and QuickBooks. The Support worker answers calls on your business line, sorts your inbox, and drafts replies, and the Sales worker drafts fast first replies to inbound leads and quote follow-ups. Anything that sends to a customer, moves money, publishes, deletes, or commits your calendar goes out only after you approve it. On a call, any booking or change waits for your approval. TeamShift does not offer a builder for designing your own agents. Pricing is usage-based: a free workspace, work billed at 3x its compute cost, a quoted maximum before each job, and spend caps (pricing).

Pick Agentforce if you're a Salesforce company with an admin and want agents inside that platform. A done-for-you team makes more sense for a smaller business that wants the work handled across the tools it already has.

FAQ

How much does Agentforce cost?

As of October 2026, Flex Credits cost $500 per 100,000 credits, which is about $0.10 per standard action. Customer-facing agents can be priced at $2 per conversation, and per-user add-ons for employees start at $125 per user a month.

What is a Flex Credit?

It's the unit Salesforce uses to meter Agentforce actions. A standard action, such as updating a record or answering a product question, uses 20 Flex Credits, and a voice action uses 30.

Is per-conversation or Flex Credit pricing cheaper?

At $0.10 an action, Flex Credits cost less whenever a conversation uses fewer than 20 standard actions. Most simple service conversations use far fewer, so Flex Credits usually win.

Is Agentforce free?

Salesforce Foundations is free and includes Agentforce Builder and Prompt Builder, but it doesn't include Flex Credits or conversations. Running agents in production costs money under one of the paid models.

Do I need Salesforce to use Agentforce?

Yes. Agentforce runs on the Salesforce platform, and the per-user add-ons sit on top of Sales, Service, Field Service, or Industries Clouds licenses.
