## 1. Hook

**Every plant alive and thriving**

Dewdrop tells you which plant needs water today, and how much.

## 2. Relief

**No more guessing or drowned roots**

Stop poking the soil. Each reminder fits the plant, the pot and your window light.

## 3. Proof

**4.7 stars from 1,284 ratings**

Plant owners rate Dewdrop 4.7 on the App Store.

Proof source: App Store listing rating and count (lookup on the pack date)

## Product Page Optimization test plan: Dewdrop: Plant Care Reminders

**Hypothesis:** screenshots 1-3 rewritten from features to outcome, relief and proof raise the share of
product page visitors who download.

| | Original | Treatment |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Screenshots 1-3 | Current set | The three frames in this pack |
| Screenshots 4+ | Current | Unchanged |
| Traffic | 50% | 50% |

### Setup in App Store Connect

1. App Store Connect > your app > Product Page Optimization > Create Test.
2. Name it, choose 1 treatment, set traffic proportion to 50%, pick all localizations you sell in.
3. Upload the three PNGs as screenshots 1-3 of the treatment (6.9-inch display; Apple scales down).
4. Submit the treatment for review (it can go with or without a new app version), then Start Test.

### Reading it

- The test runs up to 90 days; Apple shows the conversion rate and improvement for each arm and marks a
result once it reaches 90% confidence. Do not stop early on a good day.
- Only first-time product page visitors are counted. Ads and search results pages are not part of the test.
- If the treatment wins, choose Apply Treatment, which makes it the default product page.

### How long it should take

| Lift to detect | Impressions per arm | Days at your traffic |
| --- | --- | --- |
| +20% | 10,958 | 55 |
| +50% | 1,981 | 10 |
| +100% | 588 | 3 |

Based on a 3.00% baseline conversion rate and 400 first-time page
impressions a day, from the client's App Store Connect analytics.

## Onboarding teardown: Dewdrop: Plant Care Reminders

Score: **1/10** across 8 screens.

A good onboarding tells a short story: an intro that asks about the user, a climax that shows them
what they will get, and a conclusion that is clear about price before the paywall.

### Intro

- [ ] opens with the outcome the user wants, not a feature tour
Fix: Rewrite screen 1 as the result the user gets in their own words.
- [ ] asks at least 3 questions about the user's goal
Fix: Add 3-5 short questions about the user's goal and struggle; they make the aha personal.
- [ ] no account sign-up before the first question
Fix: Move sign-up after the paywall, or use Sign in with Apple at the end.

### Climax

- [ ] reflects the answers back as a personal 'aha' stat
Fix: Add a screen that turns their answers into one number (time, money, days) they will get back.
- [ ] asks for a rating right after the aha moment
Fix: Ask for a rating on the screen after the aha, while the feeling is strongest.
- [x] shows the app working for the user before the paywall

### Conclusion

- [ ] discloses the price before the paywall
Fix: Add a screen before the paywall: 'Free for N days, then $X. Cancel anytime.'
- [ ] paywall states the trial length and price
Fix: Put the trial length and price above the button on the paywall itself.
- [ ] promises a reminder before the trial ends
Fix: Promise (and send) a reminder 2 days before the trial ends.
- [ ] asks for permissions only after the aha moment
Fix: Ask for notifications and other permissions after the aha, with the reason in the request.
